CONTENT SPECIALIST

We are Worldplay, a growing video technology company. We are marketing Vidflex, our video technology platform, to the USA and Canada – from right here in Calgary.

We’re looking for an amazing copywriter that knows how to write compelling content to drive interest, engagement and leads. The right candidate will also deeply understand SEO and SEM to quickly assess, refine and optimize the content plan to punch above its weight. They will craft and deliver messaging that lands, sticks and creates action across multiple channels – web, blogs, social, PPC ad campaigns, videos and email.

THE ROLE

Assist in the development of the content plan and own the execution of it
Develop lead generation content, build audience engagement, and distribute regular touchpoint, nurturing and retention communications
Update content on company and product websites
Monitor and report on content plan KPIs and optimize based on identified trends
Support the marketing team and other departments as required
Establish Worldplay’s content style guidelines and develop communications materials

YOUR SKILLSET

Mad copywriting skills
A chess master-like understanding of omnichannel marketing
Experience in developing effective SEO and SEM strategies
Impeccable attention to detail – starting with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
High levels of organization
Ability to work within a small-but-focused team
Capability to think and do – from a great imagination and ideas for strategic input to manage and execute our complete content calendar
Experience with storyboarding for video, experience with video production is a bonus
Rainmaking lead generation skills
Strong CRM and other publishing tools capabilities
A good sense of humor doesn’t hurt!

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing or related field

Professional Experience:

4-6 years of experience building strong digital content for corporate marketing teams
Proven success with lead generation/customer acquisition content, ideally in a B2B environment
Passion, integrity, and energy!

You should be familiar with:

Working familiarity with WordPress
Knowledge of Google Analytics, HTML, and CMS systems are assets
Familiarity with HubSpot (or a similar marketing automation/CRM platform) is considered an asset

THE CHALLENGE

The Video Application Developer will work on designing and implementing video streaming features for our next generation on-line video platform. This is an intermediate to senior level position requiring a creative mind, strong programming skills and experience with video streaming technology.

THE ROLE

Design and implement key video streaming features on the Worldplay video platform such as live streaming, adaptive switching, network DVR and more
Work with the Solutions Architect to evaluate, engineer and integrate the latest video streaming technology like streaming servers, peer-to-peer delivery, advanced players and more
Integrate various systems using internal and third-party APIs
Develop functional tests and test plans where appropriate
Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the ongoing innovation of the platform
Assist with task generation, estimation and project planning
Stay up to date on web development technologies and competitive market trends
Write developer-level documentation

YOUR SKILLSET

Development experience using PHP MVC frameworks highly desirable
Experience with video streaming servers and content delivery networks
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience creating and implementing web application APIs
Familiarity with video technologies like MPEG4, H264, H265, AAC, HLS, MPEG-DASH
Basic to Intermediate HTML/CSS/Javascript skills
Basic to Intermediate database skills

Experience researching and evaluating technologies and tools
Experience with Git or other revision control systems
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (eg. JIRA)

The Intermediate Software Developer designs, implements and verifies software running on Worldplay’s systems. The main focus of the software is the integration of multiple systems using internal and third-party APIs.

THE ROLE

Integrating systems using internal and third-party APIs
Participate in all phases of the development process
Stay up to date on web development technologies
Write/update documentation
Task generation and estimation from requirements

YOUR SKILLSET

Ability to develop and implement web application functionality as necessary to meet requirements and design
Ability to effectively evaluate tools and technology
Intermediate to advanced JavaScript skills
Basic to Intermediate HTML/CSS skills
Basic to Intermediate database skills
Front end development and UX experience highly desirable
Knowledge of other programming languages desirable
Experience working with Agile methodologies
A great work ethic, healthy sense-of-humor, and a deep desire to produce quality code are all must haves!
